As a marketer, it's easy to get sucked into the daily grind of creating content and blasting it out ... forgetting that there's real people on the other end.
No matter what medium you're using ... email, blogs, LikedIn articles, Facebook post, Messenger bots ... it's a real, live person who is the recipient. They're not simply random "leads on a list" or "prospective buyers" or "contact records" in your CRM .
You're talking to real people ...
People with dreams, ambitions, hopes, goals ...
People with real problems and issues ...
People with financial fears and doubts ...
People with desires and needs ...
You need to remember this in everything you do ... everything you create ... everything you distribute ...
You need to see them as people ... and you need to try to relate to them one-on-one .. you need to make a connection on an emotional level.
Understand their hopes ...
Understand their dreams ...
Understand their needs ...
This should drive whatever you say and how you say it, whenever you talk to your audience ... regardless of whether it's on a webinar, phone call, video. email, social post, live event, live chat ... or any other form of communication.
There's a quote from David Ogilvy, one of the greatest Direct Marketers of all time. He said "The customer is not a moron. She's your wife."
Keep that quote in mind the next time you decide to communicate with your audience.
Instead of "blasting out" some bland piece ... talk to them like real people ... reach out to them on an emotional level ... give them value ... respect them.
